Unveiled
2026
This is what happens when the body surrenders without knowing it is surrendered. Eyes closed, head tilted back in complete abandon, she is entirely exposed yet entirely unaware of her exposure.
There is a profound asymmetry here. The figure gives everything away, but does not witness her own giving. She cannot see who sees her. She exists in a moment of perfect vulnerability, innocent and defenseless, while the viewer stands at a distance, privy to something the figure does not consent to share.
Unveiled speaks to the ethics of looking. It asks: what is our responsibility when we see something that does not know itself being seen? Does the absence of knowledge change what we are witnessing? Is this intimacy or violation? The question hangs in the threads.
The gaze becomes something more complex here. It is not a meeting of equals, not an exchange. It is a one-directional act, the viewer observing what cannot observe in return. There is a fragility in this, but also a kind of power—one that must be handled with care.
To look at Unveiled is to confront our own complicity in the act of seeing.
